Tomorrow is a whole new day.

Man walking at sunset

As 2014 draws to a close and many of us look to 2015 as a new beginning we examine ourselves and strive to change for the better. Many aspects of our lives are still the same and will continue to be so, so change comes from not what we experience but in indeed how we view those experiences and in doing so decide how to deal with them.

The underlying theme in these blogs, is and will always be the individual. Whether you are a coal face worker or the CEO of a large organisation then the same applies. And so I invite you to watch a quite remarkable man.

Sam Berns was a 17 year old teenager who tragedy died three months after this video was made. Suffering from Progeria, a condition that only affects 350 people worldwide, Sam explains his philosphophy for life and quite frankly puts us all to shame.

So I urge that you watch this young mans testimony to the end, who’s wisdom belies his tender years. We can all take something from what Sam offer’s and hopefully realise just how incredibly blessed we really are.

Here’s to 2015 and may it be your best year yet.

About Walk the Talk

I have been a Police Officer for 20 years. It’s fair to say I have just about seen it all. I have spent my service working major town centres on response seeing all that life can throw at a human being. But, for the last eight years I have been on the road policing unit in its various guises. It is on this unit that I have seen life transpire to deal its cruelest hand. Both as an investigating officer and a family liaison officer, I have witnessed tragedy that at times I am at a loss to understand and at worse comprehend. Wholly committed to saving lives, this is the role of the road policing officer. As I have gotten older and realising that my emotional sponge is saturated I have looked and taken a very real interest in personal wellbeing and how WE can make our life experience better what ever we do. Taking the media of blogging a stage further I now produce podcasts on that topic. Join me if you would on an evolving journey that no doubt will produce a few surprises along the way.
